Our Mission: The Breast Cancer Resource Center of Santa Barbara is committed to serve as a community resource center; act as an informational clearinghouse, and provide free educational and support services for all who are concerned about breast cancer and breast health.
The BCRC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been serving the local community since 1997, addressing the needs of newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, survivors, and clients interested and/or concerned about their breast health.
We strive to make our client's lives a little more comfortable by providing a caring human touch, peer-counseling and emotional support, resources, and practical necessities that help patients undergoing treatment and coping with breast cancer to help them through their journey and on toward well being.
The center is a safe place of comfort and encouragement where you will be welcomed by women who can truly say, "I understand how you feel, -we are here to help you" to a newly diagnosed person faced with an overwhelming mix of emotions and decisions.
Our daily services include access to a remarkable library resource, one-on-one peer-counseling, support groups, and week after week a suite of complementary care & Integrative Therapy services such as Meditation, Reflexology and Reiki, and art therapy, sexuality & intimacy counseling with a registered nurse.
We work closely with our local healthcare professionals in a collaborative effort, sharing information about the resources available in our area. We receive no governmental funding, but are financed through individual donations, fundraisers and grants. Please join your community in supporting our efforts either by donating or volunteering. |
