Macerich Helps Cancer Patients
La Cumbre Plaza recently launched it'd partnership with the national nonprofit Step Up Women's Network - a high profile membership organization dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls.
The partnership was announced Thursday at a "Step Out Step Up" event at which more than 75 area women helped assemble 425 wellness bags for female cancer patients at the Santa Barbara Breast Cancer Resource Center in time for Mother's Day.
These bags include a wide range of fashion, beauty and other feel-good items from stores at La Cumbre Plaza.
In addition, each bag had a hand-written note from the woman who assembled the bag.
The event was part of a nationwide one-day effort by La Cumbre Plaza and its 72 sister shopping centers to create more than 30,000 wellness bags for women cancer patients nationwide.
Macerich, one of the nation's largest owners, operators and developers of regional shopping centers, including La Cumbre Plaza, is building a dynamic, multi-layered partnership with the innovative Step up organization.
