Volunteer Spotlight: Paul Lommen

Thank you to Paul for his many devoted years of volunteer service at BCRC.

Paul Lommen, BCRC Volunteer

Thank you to Paul for his many devoted years of volunteer service at BCRC. Every Monday and Thursday afternoon Paul makes sure that free bouquets of fresh flowers are available to brighten up our clients days. This is just one of the many ways that Paul has helped the BCRC over many years as a dedicated volunteer. At our community educational lectures he has been a warm and welcoming presence as he records each lecture to make a DVD available at the BCRC library.  Paul has also been responsible for assisting clients in need of help with navigating challenges on their digital devices. With his patience, and kind, gentle presence he supported clients as they worked through the technical challenges of using phones, Aps, and computers to schedule appointments and communicating with their support network throughout treatment. As one of the BCRC’s most devoted volunteers, Paul has helped countless clients on their path forward and we couldn’t be more grateful. For his service, BCRC awarded Paul it highest honor “Dorothy Shea Volunteer of the Year Award. In 1997, Ms. Shea gave the BCRC its running start to become a vital community asset by providing a lovely cottage rent free for several years.  She believed in the BCRC mission and understood the significant difference the programs would make for clients and their families.  The Dorothy Shea Award recipients are volunteers who exemplify Dorothy’s spirit of generosity, compassion and contribution to the community and BCRC.

Thank you Paul!
